Just woke up and checked my expenses for WAT

I spent an approximately SGD 7,000 total, including the initial fees and flight tickets, net of any earnings made from working.

Which is not as bad as I expected, imho! Especially because I wasn’t really controlling my spending very tightly.

Since the initial program fees, insurance and flight tickets were already SGD 4,500, that means my total net spending in the states for 2 months amounted to about SGD 2,500. Thank god for the income to cover all my expenses hahaha.

Oh, I made about SGD 2,300 total for 8 weeks, after housing payment and all the misc stuff they deducted from the paychecks. Hopefully can claim back some money from tax refunds.

But then again, I guess if I had the opportunity to go travelling, my expenses would have been astronomical. Haha!

Now I just have to return my debt and everything will be swee (:

Regretful feelings.
I haven’t mentioned it, but the time when I left USA was marred by unhappy feelings. Regret from not being able to accomplish some things, especially being unable to take photos and say a proper goodbye to my co-workers, and enjoy a last milkshake before I left. Didn’t see the July 4th fireworks. Didn’t really get to enjoy my last days there with close friends. And I was left confused and paranoid of being ostracised by some people, and a situation I didn’t understand.
I was happy and contented with my fruitful days spent there, but there’s always a small feeling saying, ‘it’s not enough!’ and ‘it could have been better!’
Maybe I’m just a pessimist, but I do regret that I’m not so close with all my co-workers that we’ll keep in touch after this. I’ll always remember and treasure all the happy times together though, and I’m definitely missing that pink bunch a lot.
Am just feeling a little bit affected today, seeing all the happy fb statuses and photos from the states. It’s hard to imagine that I’m here starting a new phase of life, but they’re still there having the time of their lives. I really wish I were there with everyone. Especially since it’s so difficult to communicate with them now.
Oh, I also got my paycheck. 93.9 hours, not that much but it’s the most I’ve ever gotten.
I was actually pretty happy from work and meet-ups earlier this evening. Shouldn’t let myself feel affected by this.

About currency

It feels strange and unfamiliar using the colourful, new plasticky Singaporean notes after so long.

Must be all those days interacting with American money as a cashier! The money’s definitely more “giam”, tattered and torn and less colourful. And because of Soak City + wet rides in CP, we get a lot of dripping wet notes throughout the day. Not to mention disgusting notes that came from the insides of shoes/bras.

I’m not kidding.

I still think American coins are so not efficient though, because they lead to so much change. Quarters, dimes, nickels, pennies. Occasionally some Dollar coins. Let’s see, for example, if I have to give a customer change of .94, he will receive a grand total of 3 quarters, 1 dime, 1 nickel, and 4 pennies. That’s 9 coins in total for a measly .94!!

Now let’s look at Singaporean coins. Because our 1 cent coins have been abolished since a few years back, the maximum amount of change would probably be around 4 coins, using a mix of 50cents, 20cents, 10cents and 5cents.

Getting rid of all the change in your pocket FTW, anyday!

Oh shucks, I left my Broadway dress in the dorms.

Guess I can’t wear it to watch Broadway in London. HAHA!

Also lost 2kilos when I was in the States. Chey, only 2 kg ):

Still in the midst of unpacking, having long bouts of unconsciousness, and procrastinating about the online test.

I’ll complete that and do my hair tomorrow.
